    About Austin Transit Partnership

    The Austin Transit Partnership (ATP) was formed by the City of Austin and CapMetro after Austin voted in November 2020 to implement Project Connect, which includes expanded transit options throughout the Austin area with new light rail and more services across the city.

    The Austin Transit Partnership serves as the independent local government corporation tasked with implementing Project Connect.

    • Approve board officers, adoption of bylaws and approval of annual budget
    • Approve grant agreement and interlocal agreement with the City of Austin for funding anti-displacement strategies
    • Oversight of design, construction and implementation of Project Connect’s projects
    • Approve financing, design, engineering and construction contracts, as well as real estate and vehicle acquisition contracts
    • Approve future interlocal agreements and joint powers agreement
    • Provide regular updates to CapMetro and the City of Austin
