Community Advisory Committee Application Now Open

The purpose of the CAC is to assist the Austin City Council (City Council), Austin Transit Partnership (ATP), and CapMetro in engaging the community and advising on anti-displacement and related matters regarding Project Connect. The CAC also assists the community and City Council to evaluate neighborhood-level anti-displacement strategies.

Applications open Monday, September 15 and close Wednesday, October 15 at 5 p.m. CDT.

All CAC applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be residents of either the city of Austin or CapMetro’s Service Area;
• Not be a person who is registered or required to register as a lobbyist under City Code Chapter 4-8 or who is employed by a person registered or required to register under City Code Chapter 4-8.
• Not be an employee of the City of Austin, CapMetro, or ATP;
• Not have a contract for real property, goods, or services with the City of Austin, CapMetro or ATP, or be employed by such a contractor; and,
• Shall abide by the ATP Ethics, Conflicts and Nondisclosure Policy (PDF), as amended.

The CAC is comprised of members of the Austin-area community with a variety of interests and experiences including community organizing, household affordability, housing and transportation, urban planning and architecture, health and human services, accessibility, small and local business, and/or other relevant topics as they relate to transit.

Completed applications that meet the eligibility criteria will be reviewed by the Nominating Committee which will provide its appointment recommendations to the ATP Board, CapMetro Board, and City Council for their respective Board and Council meetings in 2025. The first meeting with the new CAC members is anticipated to be conducted in January 2026.
